Kyoto 14 (4)

After the flight, with 70% empty seats we could lay down on three each of us, we took the train from Osaka Airport to Kyoto. Having lunch the programm of the day was discussed. Visiting the Ikenobo exhibition while the arrangers are still designing was a good idea. Lively and interesting to see how all the women worked out their shoka or rikka. Our teacher knows a lot of professors of Ikenobo so she makes contact.
A little walk in the streets nearby was already a nice way to breathe the atmosphere of Japan.
After dinner the day had been long enough since departure at home 27 hours ago. Sleeping is needed for a strong performance as a tourist next day.
But first a visit to Starbucks for internet contact to send.

Kyoto 14 (3)

Patience is requested now I am at Schiphol Airport. Three hours before flight I just sit and read a little. Getting Japanese atmosphere by itting in front of a sushi kiosk. I have dutch lunch bread taken with me so Japanese food has to wait until about 18 hours at Kyoto. There we will have Bento with the group.

Kyoto 14 (02)

Just one day left for preparation for our trip to Kyoto and the Headquarters of the eldest ikebana school IKENOBO.
I started lessons Japanese. Learning about 10 expressions is already so hard. Hiroko at Youtube has given all she has to make me say Hello and Nice to meet you in Japanese.
Looking around with Google street view and photo tour has given me an impression of all day views of Kyoto. The idea that I will find myself in there within just 2 days makes me a little nervous. So soon Kyoto!

Ikebana study trip to Kyoto 11-2014

Learning Ikenobo from a professor of the Ikenobo Headquarters in Kyoto will be a awesome experience. Four days of classes and four days to visit Kyoto centre highlights together with our Dutch teacher,  president of the Ikenobo Chapter of the Netherlands, and about 20 students shall become an unforgettable impression.
Now I have just four days of preparation because 12 november we fly from Amsterdam to Osaka where we tak the train to Kyoto.
